National Vending was started in 1991 after the company directors saw an opportunity in the New Zealand market for commercial size vending machines. Two years later they had developed their own electronic snack vending machine and proceeded to set up New Zealand's first vending machine manufacturing facility based in Auckland. Since that time the company has concentrated on research and development resulting in the release of two world-class vending machine brands; the Snackmate and the Retro. Snackmate and Retro vending machines are now used by operators all over the world.
